1) I frequently think of fun and interesting blog topics while in the car. I promptly forget them when I get home and am sitting at the computer. Dumb.
2) I've always wanted to blog about my pet peeves. But every time I get close to doing it, I realize it's likely I will piss off most if not all of my friends and family. Then I decide against it. Perhaps I'm just too easily annoyed.
3) I have a very hard time letting go of things that have hurt or angered me in my past. For example someone said something almost a year ago that really bothered me and I never said anything about it and when I think about it now... I still get mad. And they didn't even say the thing to or about me!
4) My husband is studying for his Liscencing Exam to become a Liscenced Master Social Worker. He told me not to post that in case he does bad on the test. But he'll do fine I think so I'm posting it anyways. When he passes will that make me, Kristine A. U*****, LMSW? I always wanted some letters after my name... or not.
5) Stop asking the question you might be asking us. The answer is still no.
6) It's cold.
7) I will be 3 years from turning 30 in 14 days. When did that happen?
8) I wish we had won a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan so that when we went out with parties of friends or family that are 3 or more plus us we wouldn't have to always take 2 cars.
9) There are 19 shopping days left until Christmas... minus Sundays (because we don't shop on those)... so 17... minus Christmas Eve... so 16... minus at least 3 days of work that will have us too tired to go out... so 13. Dude... we better kick it into gear.
10) Mia is getting a Cozy Coupe for Christmas. It is a pretty SWEET ride. But Andrew made us get the old school non-girlifide one so it can work for our future babies as well. I told Mia I'd decorate it for her with a flower or something. I never had a Cozy Coupe.
11) This post is done.
Perhaps the best release of confusion is to spew it onto the screen through my fingers... This is my part of the cyber world. Join in my delirium, won't you?

I think the deadline has passed by now.
So I suppose it's okay to show you what our family did last month. So I was watching the View one day in mid-December when they announced they were having a "Caroling for a Caravan" contest. Basically, you had to take one of the four carols they gave you, change the words, use 11 key words, and send in a video of you singing your carol for a chance to win one of 12 Dodge Grand Caravans they were giving away.
They're giving away 3 a week and the first 3 winners were on the show this past week.
Anyhoo... here is our entry. Even if we didn't win, at least we had fun making the video!!

Big girls don't cry.
This is how we felt on Saturday evening...
But other than the icky football game, Thanksgiving weekend was quite a thrill.
1) I cooked my first turkey... (and no one got horribly ill) WAHOO!
2) Andrew and I hosted a Thanksgiving suaree at our apartamento for his fam (complete with charades).
3) We beat the snow east driving to my parents house on Friday evening. (despite having to take the backroads because my husband hates the Turnpike).
4) Andrew and I took a walk up to our little Church on Sunday afternoon while everyone else napped in their turkey hangovers.
5) We got to take the turnpike home and it didn't even cause a fight!!! (And we drove the speed limit... GASP!!)
YIPEE!
I hope you all had great Thanksgivings too.

I have a bebo... do you?
Little Mia has discovered something new in the past week or so.
It started about 3 weeks ago, when she developed a fascination for Andrew's belt buckle. He'd be laying on the living room floor, and she'd crawl over and lift up his shirt to find a shiny silver belt buckle. She thought it was the shiznit.
And then 2 weeks ago, we rustled up enough money (thanks to a sweet card from Gma & Gpa and a kind stranger in IHOP) to go purchase some more board books for her. We came home with Opposites and The Belly Button Book by Sandra Boynton. *They cracked me up... so I figured Mia would like them, too.*
Anyways... I didn't notice the correlation but soon after reading the Belly Button Book, Mia began to look for a belt buckle on mommy. (and since I rarely wear a belt, I started pointing her to my belly button instead... or "be bo" as the baby hippo in the Belly Button book calls it.)
Well it turns out she's quite fascinated with mommy and daddy's belly buttons.... and tonight we discovered that translates into being fascinated with ALL belly buttons.
Our friend Jim came over to watch Heroes. Hella Awesome Show, By The Way. And Jim was sitting on the floor for a good hour while Mia crawled all around not paying much attention to him. She slowly warmed up to him and began crawling over and around him... and then... she decided to lift up his shirt to find a belt AND a bebo. JACKPOT FOR MIA!
Jim, with a rather surprised look on his face, said "What are you looking for Mia?"
And her embarrased mom had to explain Mia's new fascination.
So just beware the next time you come over... if you lay on our floor and allow the baby to play on you... your belly will be bared eventually. BEWARE THE BEBO MONSTER!

Can't I be a mute today?
Tonight Andrew decided he really really really wanted to go to this alumni get together for Shocker Social Work grads. And he also decided that I should come with him.
I REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO GO.
Here is why:
Andrew likes to go into social situations. He says "it's going to be soooo fun." And he gets all excited about going to see people.
And then this is what happens.
He walks into a room full of people he half-knows. And he sits down at a table by himself. And he waits. What's he waiting for? Someone to talk to him... yes... someone to talk to him.
So I HATE going to places with Andrew where he's the only one who knows people. Cuz i'm stuck sitting there... talking to people he half-knows... and wondering why he won't pipe in.
And I suck in social situations with strangers. It makes me feel uncomfortable and self conscious.
Luckily... his social worker former classmates are all about as weird as he and most of them are sociable so tonight was actually fun. Plus I had a very strong Pina Colada to help me through. Giddyup.

Subtle... or not so much
In my MANY years of blogging, I've learned a few things about subtlety. Namely, no matter how subtle you think you might be being in your blog postings... you're usually pretty easily discovered (at least by those who are close to you.)
I've hurt some feelings and let out a few secrets in my blogging days.
Lemme give you an example:
If you go back and read this post:
http://delightfuldelirium.blogspot.com/2003_10_01_archive.html#106727107634057718
from October of 2003, you'll find me ranting about how friends shouldn't ever act interested in guys that they KNOW you really really like. Now... I never used a name of the guy or the friend, but the second I posted it, my dear (now in the convent) friend...and roommate at the time...Kimmy became quite distraught that I had written such a post about her and cried a lot. She had gone out for four hours with the boy upstairs who I had a MAJOR crush on while I was out of town and I was crushed. And I took out my feelings on my blog. She hadn't even been on a date... just a friend thing... but it was too much for me to handle at that time. We eventually talked it out and felt much better... but I was highly reprimanded for posting such a thing before speaking with her.
Over the years I still managed to anger quite a few people in some of my blog rantings. Sometimes I wrote them with subtlety... sometimes I didn't.
My advice to you baby bloggers out there is to be careful what you say and how you say it... because you're more easily decoded than you think.
