IT'S ALIVE!

Hey folks! I am still around, just kind of out of the whole blogging thing as of late.

You see, as of December 30th, Andrew and I are homeowners!! YIPPEE!!

The entirety of the month of December was kind of a crazy mess of packing, and cleaning, and signing papers, and negotiating, and planning for Christmas, and going out of town, and celebrating anniversaries, etc. It was a bit stressful, but we have overcome the craziness and we're finally settling in here.

It's super neat to have a house. I love that the kiddos now have room to run and be silly without disturbing our neighbors. I love not having to scrape the car in the morning (or beg Andrew to do it). I LOVE LOVE having tons of cabinets and counter space in my kitchen. It makes me want to be a chef.

We are already diving in to hosting things since we finally have room to do so. We had people over for dinner 2 nights in a row this week even though we haven't fully unpacked. We'll definitely be having a house blessing party sometime in a few weeks to truly kick off the "my house is your house" mantra that we hope to adapt.

I love having people over!!

That's all for now. Must get back to unpacking!

Love to all of you.

Boring? Don't care.

So I never write blogs anymore because I have nothing exciting to write about.

But, ya'll, it's been OVER A MONTH since I last blogged and that's far too long.

Here's a rundown of what's up:

1) The selling realtor for the house we put an offer on has the reputation of being quite good at MAJORLY SUCKING. Thus we are back in the process of looking again. Our offer still stands on the first house, but we're beginning to think we'll never hear back from the bank... so in the mean time we're gonna try and find another dream home.

2) Vince turned one last Friday. He's getting big VERY fast and it's freaking me out. He just recently learned the whole "someone took something away from me so I should cry really loudly about that" game. Oh... how I miss the days of when they're too little to realize they should be mad when someone takes something away from them.

3) Mia is destined for stardome. She has beautiful long curly hair. A really decent voice for a 2 year old. And she seems to enjoy performing. I'm thinking it would be super cool to get her in dance class, because she likes to dance... and actually so do I... maybe I can find a mommy & tot class. That'd be way cool.

4) LOVING my job still. LOVING being back. I had a small pause about the whole thing when I found out Mia was referring to Ms. Lyza as "mommy"... but I guess that's to be expected when her two little best friends naturally call Ms. Lyza mommy. Besides... she insists she's going to marry one of those little boys which would make Ms Lyza a mommy-in-law so maybe she's just practicing for 20 years down the road.

5) Bananas.

Have a great week everyone!

AWESOME!

Sunday, September 13, 2009

It's September already?

Hey folks! There's been a lot to write about lately, but very very little time to actually sit down and write. Let me catch you up in as little words as possible.

1) I accepted a full time position at my place of work three weeks ago. It is AWESOME! And I LOVE being back. Had no idea that I wasn't fully my happy self until I saw what happened to me when I returned to work. Apparently I thrive in an uber-busy, semi-stressful, constant state of dissaray that keeps my mind engaged. I'm just so stinkin happy now. It rocks.

2) Andrew and I became officially old when we went shopping for our 2nd car. We figured it would be our cool, somewhat-hip, just-to-get-around-town car. We hoped for a five speed of some sort. Maybe an extended cab little truck. Maybe a cool little mid size car. Well... that was a big fat NOPE. We ended up with yet another Ford Taurus. What makes it cool? It's not a wagon. Sheesh.

3) And last, but certainly not least, we put an offer on a house yesterday!!!! If the deal goes through, we will be living in a super duper awesome house with all the stuff we wanted in a house, and be REALLY close to my job and our Church (like I'm talking walking distance). FAB. YOU. LOUS.

4) Also... my kids are cute.

And that's all I've got to say about that.

Update

I sat down to actually blog... but I STILL cannot think of anything to blog about. So I guess I'll just give you all a life update.

A) Time is passing at an incomprehensible rate lately. Mia is 2 and a half today, and Vince is 4 days away from being 9 months old. She's fully potty-trained, and is developing a very funny little personality. He crawls and cruises all over the apartment and still refuses to eat solid foods, leaving his mommy to be a milk-o-matic ALOT of the time.

B) Since Andrew's job search hasn't been super lucrative, we've decided to just bide our time in our same old pattern for awhile... which means no house for us at least for a little while. I'm a little dissappointed that I've got to stay put in our apartment for longer than I thought, but I'm super glad that I don't yet have to quit my job which is still the coolest most wonderful job EVER. And, A&I switched our hours up so that, except for 1 night a week, we're always all home by 6p and no one ever has to leave earlier than 7:15a to go to work. Consistency is nice.

C) I went in to get my cholesterol re-checked on Friday. I find out if the 30 pounds I've lost since January has had any effect on my cholesterol. I will be SUPER PISSED if it hasn't... but the doc was pretty sure it would make at least some difference.

D) Speaking of losing 30 pounds, I am now at the smallest weight that Andrew has ever known me at, I can fit into pants that I bought 4 years ago and most of them are TOO big, AND I wonder why I EVER thought I was fat in high school because I was only about 5 pounds less then, than I am now, and I'm feeling pretty cute these days. I guess that's what having 2 babies in 3 years does to you... it gives you some definite body-image perspective.

E) We got to see Sister Sophia Grace this summer. It's still vaguely ironic to me that she's the one who became a nun, and I'm the one who ended up getting married and popping out kiddos like crazy. I'm not sure anyone would have guessed that when Kim and I became roommates just after college. God is a funny guy. Nevertheless, it was wonderful seeing her and experiencing the pure joy that her vocation brings to her. Her eyes just glow with the love of Christ and it gives me peace to be around her.

F) When she was home, we had a small get together of some of the original Daisy House group. The funny thing about it was that there were sooooo many babies and toddlers there. The spawn of the Daisy House is beginning to overtake the originals. Again... SO MUCH HAS CHANGED IN FOUR YEARS. I'll post a pic at the bottom of this blog.

G) I hate that my blog is uber-boring as of late, and when I've tried to figure out why, I sort of come to two conclusions. Firstly, FACEBOOK takes way less effort and is about as effective. Secondly, my blog used to be about things that bugged me... but these days I'm too afraid (or lazy) to stir up the drama and then have to deal with it, so I tend to just skip the blogging. My husband does enough pot-stirring for the both of us I guess.

H) After 4 or 5 years, I finally have reconnected with my best friend from high school. It's been really neat hanging out with Kay again and has at least made the daunting task of attending my 10 year high school reunion seem at least a bit less daunting. (Though I'm still not sure I want to speak to all those kids who were mega-jerks in high school... do you suppose they've changed by now??)

I) I am LOVING this July weather. Andrew and I haven't had to turn our A/C on in like a week. It's been fabulous!

That's all I've got for now folks. If any of you are still out there reading, I appreciate your deligence in checking for new updates as I am admittedly getting much worse about it. Toodles!
