Time to fast, time to feast:
Lent is a time to fast from certain things - and to feast on others.
It's a season we should
Fast from judging others, and feast on the Christ dwelling within them.
Fast from darkness; feast on the Light.
Fast from anger; feast on patience.
Fast from pessimism; feast on optimism.
Fast from worry; feast on divine order.
Fast from complaining; feast on appreciation.
Fast from fear; feast on unceasing prayer and faith.
Fast from bitterness; feast on forgiveness.
Fast from idle gossip; feast on purposeful silence.
Fast from self-concern; feast on compassion.
Fast from suspicion; feast on truth.

Lots of changes, old Max, lots of changes
Hello friends and neighbors,
In today's episode we'll be discussing how different life is about to become. For those of you unfamiliar with our show... we take a topic, beat it to death with a hammer, and the merrily continue on our way towards something less or more disconcerting.
In 64 days and 50 minutes from the time of this post, the wedding music will have begun. And I'll soon walk down the aisle to become a Mrs. Is anyone else a little concerned that it is already March? I mean... seriously... wasn't it just November a few weeks ago?
Now... I'm not getting cold feet or anything yet... but I am struck at how much things will change. Getting married means becoming a Mrs. Becoming a Mrs means living with a boy. Living with a boy means not living at the Daisy house. Not living at the Daisy House means 1 less person to pay rent there. One less person to pay rent there means the house might not be around forever. The house not being around means lots of changes for lots of people. And those people affect other people and more people and lots of people and... MONKIES! (not that it will affect monkies, that was just an explitive thrown in for dramatic effect)
Furthermore and without further ado, it's nuts.
In other news, Lisa got new glasses. So did Jose. And Andrew will get them on Monday. It is a SPECTACULAR week... get it "spectacle"... heh heh.
Hmmm... Well I've about exhausted my energy for writing blogtasticness for now. I shall leave and go back to work.
Cheerio!

The Open Book Club
Tonight there were about 25 people at my house for the Sojourn Retreat Reunion party. It was a great time... and it made me realize just how fun and crazy my friends are. Like my heart just gets bigger each time they're all around cuz they're all so different and unique and wonderful... plus they're great huggers. Yeay for hugs.
But that is neither here nor there nor anywhere... because I had a much more interesting epiphany type o thing this evening. It's about being an open book.
Now i've always sort of been one to wear my heart on my sleeve. If I'm sad... people know it. If I'm happy... people know it. If I'm angry... people know it. If i'm pissy... people REALLY know it. And on top of that I general will tell just about anyone just about anything about me because I hit a point a few years ago when I decided that keeping things on the downlow was kinda stupid. So I decided to stop having secrets and I just started living outloud.
Anyways... this has taken me to a point in my relationships with people that even I'M not completely comfortable with what I talk about sometimes. For example, tonight toward the end of the evening when only a few people were left in the house, our discussion was centered on where Andrew and I should stay on our wedding night. Now normally... it wouldn't be a huge deal if people were just offering suggestions of places... but it was like a pretty detailed conversation... that people were actually pretty passionate about... and I was just sorta standing there wishing that everyone would just stop talking.
I was just struck by the ludiocrity of the situation. My life is such an open book that everyone can read it and everyone has something to say. It sorta grosses me out. At the very same time it completely amazes me because for so many people to know so much stuff about me, I must really trust them. And to have that many awesome trustworthy friends is a huge giant gift.
I think perhaps I need to work on my ability of keeping things to myself however because one of these days all this "stuff" that is being talked about now... is actually going to be happening. And I'm not sure I want to share something so personal and sacred.

In other news... have I mentioned lately how utterly blown away I am by my fiance? Like... it really feels like I love him more everyday than I did the day before. I don't know how it's possible. Even when I'm so annoyed with him that I could just about scream, I still love him so so so so much. It's awesome. And in 10 weeks from yesterday, he'll be my husband. Far out.

Mostly I just need someone to tell me that I haven't screwed up in my statements. The second post on this blog is about abortion... anyone in the mood for a good argument?

Happy Valentine's Day... almost
Alright people... I keep checkin all these blogs on my blogroll... and NO ONE IS UPDATING!
I find it to be rather dissappointing and smelly, so I've decided to update. Yip Yip!
What to say... what to say...
Tomorrow is my favorite holiday of all time ever. Valentine's day is such a neato day. You get to wear pink and give hugs and say I love you all day. Plus sometimes you get candy and flowers from your friends and loved ones. It's grand. Tomorrow evening all the guys that I hang out with are making dinner for all of the girls I hang out with. This is the second annual Valentine's Dinner at Jim's and expect it to be quite fabulous. At the dinner last year I was trying to get my friend Lucas to stop putting his arm around me and whispering in my ear. All he was trying to do was discreetly ask me which guy I liked ... but I couldn't tell him that the guy I had my eye on (Andrew) was sitting across the room and probably thinking that Lucas and I were flirting.
I found out a few months later that Andrew was totally thinking that. Dog gone that Lucas! :) No matter... I turned the flirting on super high later and a few weeks after that was my first date with my now fiance. Neat.
I have nothing else to say but at least I posted something on this rather boring site. Why don't the rest of you get on it and make some words happen. I"m getting sick of surfing blogs with nothing on them to read. Boo to You.
Is anyone getting excited about the Spring theme? I am. It's been stewing for awhile but I think it'll be a good one. How is your Winter of Trust going anyways?
