The Human Condition

I wonder what it would be like to be able to I step back from ourselves and see the big picture?

This was the thought that passed through my head today on my drive home. We all hurt, we all laugh, we all get sad, we all get excited. Humans FEEL so much about so many different things. I just wonder what it might be like to be able to distinguish the significant things from the insignificant things.

And what determines significance anyways... because something that may seem significant to me now may not seem that way in a year.

Hmm.. I dunno.. just some thoughts.

In other news, if any of you are long-time readers of my blog, then you probably remember the crazy antics with my upstairs neighbor Ryan. He is in Denver now and Kim and I talk to him about every 6 months. Tonight ended up being that random catch up session with Ryan. He is still the same crazy man that he was back in the day, and he completely cracked me up for a majority of our conversation on the phone. He is going to try to make it to the wedding in May... though he commplained that Catholic weddings take forever. "Don't you like break some glass and yell Mazultaf!" he joked. I was like... uh... wrong religion. Of course he knew that but he is silly Ryan as always.

Andrew and I went to Engaged Encounter this weekend. It was the BEST retreat I have ever been on. We talked about so much awesome stuff and though I thought it wasn't possible, I'm even more excited to marry him now. When I got back from the retreat I told Kim what an amazing time we had and how I had never been on such a fulfilling retreat. She said, "Do you think it was so awesome because it was completely about your true vocation?" Wow... now that's something I hadn't thought about but totally love. My vocation is to marry Andrew Christopher. That's my calling from God. I get to help him get to heaven. Does anyone understand what an amazing gift that is??? And on top of all that... I've got him to lead me to heaven, too. I'm blown away by how much God loves when we open our eyes to Him.

I learned some more bad stuff about planned parenthood today. Like why they promote abortion even more than the statistic show. Did you know that of all the condom brands out there... there are 3 that are deemed LEAST effective. 2 of those 3 least effective brands are distributed in Planned Parenthood kits given to teens who want to experiment. Then guess what... if the condom doesn't work... PP refers the kids to an abortion doctor. Is it really about protecting kids or making money. Buy cheap condoms and then earn money from killing babies and wounding teens. Good Grief!

What a weekend!!! This weekend my brother got married, I acquired a sister, and I had one of the most fun weekends I've had in a LONG time.

Among others some of the key phrases of the weekend included:

-"Pimp the collar!"
-"Oh... SNAP... Yo!"
-"I think I'm going to throw up."
-"Anyone want a Jaeger Bomb?"
-"Dead Puppies, Dead Puppies."
-"I can't breathe."

The weekend was just plain AWESOME!! And now Kimmy B is Kimmy R!! YIPEE!!!

To the Bride and Groom:

Congratulations and God Bless. Thanks for a fabulous party following your wedding, and thanks so much for letting me share in your special day. I'm so happy and excited for both of you!

It's been a long time.

Since I last made a post on this here blog. Life has been a whirlwind of craziness since the big E in July, and I imagine it will probably remain that way up until about May 6th of next year.

Things I've learned thus far:

1) Even a SIMPLE wedding is a BIG deal.
2) I'm afraid of talking to DJ's.
3) I LOVE learning about Natural Family Planning. Did you know that NFP not only teaches Andrew and I how to postpone or achieve pregnancy, but it ALSO will tell me if I have health issues like cancer or polyps or other weird girly stuff just by me charting some things every day? It's so totally awesome. And I know exactly what is going on with my body at all times. I LOVE NFP!!!
4) Marriage prep is totally awesome... and there ARE things that A & I haven't talked about that we totally need to before we take the big plunge.
5) Finding the "one" dress is pretty much the same feeling as finding the "ONE" guy. Once you put it on... you just know.
6) I don't like shopping for bridesmaids gowns.
7) My flower girls are adorable and their moms are just as cute as they are.
8) Despite the planning and stressing and fun and confusion that I'm experiencing, I'm so very excited to be past that one day of a wedding and be on to that lifetime of marriage with the man I love. Saying goodbye to him each evening gets more and more difficult as the days pass.

:) Welp... that's all for me folks. That's where I've been and what I've been up to. I wish I had time to post on this more often. Heck... I wish I had time to even just check it more often for your posts. But life takes turns and I guess you just gotta go with it. :)
